Beckie’s sculpture career began as a theatrical mask maker. A mask project with Santa Fe Opera led to her training as an operatic makeup artist, and a 25 year career with the Los Angeles Opera. Beckie’s masks evolved into the work showcased on this website, but she continues to make masks and design makeup and wigs for theater, opera and display. One of Beckie’s unique mask styles is the custom inside/outside Portrait Mask. Examples of those can be seen in the Portrait Mask Gallery (dropdown menu under Galleries).
