The Ring Cycle Series

The sculptures and masks pictured below were inspired by the two decades Beckie Kravetz spent working with the Los Angeles Opera as a principal makeup artist, resident mask maker and assistant wigmaster.  The works have been exhibited at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (Los Angeles Opera House), Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, and in gallery shows in Santa Fe, NM,  Tucson, AZ, Lenox, MA,  and Oneonta, NY.  The rich mythology and magnificent music of the Ring Cycle have been particular sources of inspiration for Beckie’s sculpture.  Works inspired by other operas can be seen in the Sculpted Arias  and Opera Sculpture and Masks galleries.  Commissions featuring specific singers or compositions are welcome.
